Effervescent Memories

What is the essential quality of forever love? What is it that allows two people to be together for a lifetime? What secret do they possess to explain such longevity? Through the use of both prose and verse, the reader will perhaps discover some of the answers. But in the final analysis the secret isn’t really a secret at all. The truth is within you, waiting for you to discover. But first you must know what you are seeking, what forever love is all about.

A Book of Love

by

Deacon Chuck Lanham

Although I seldom attempt to write in verse (for those who might be unfamiliar with the word, it is synonymous with poetry,) that doesn’t mean that I am incapable of doing so or that I have never tried my hand at it. This small book is proof that I have and I do hope that you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed writing it.

While this work contains my own poor attempts at verse, I must admit that I am not as prolific in its form as I would like to be. Thus what follows is somewhat of a hybrid work consisting of both introductory prose and verse.

In this effort I have found that each genre is decidedly different and, while both may engage the same language, each exercises linguistic gymnastics uniquely its own. Thus any attempt to find common ground among such dissimilar creative art forms presents more than a few interesting challenges. I will leave it to you to determine if it was worth the effort.
