My Thoughts

I must apologize. Sincerely, I have said this before—so many times I no longer remember how often—but if the shoe fits … “Insanity is doing the same thing, over and over again, and expecting different results.” So, call them crazy, but anyone who “honestly” still believes the canard that repeated mass mandatory masking works to reduce the spread of the coronavirus, should be concerned for their mental health. Facts and data are seldom considered these days unless and until they have been cherry-picked to support the preferred narrative. Listen to the science, but only the science that supports the maskeradors agenda.

How long have states throughout this country issued and extended mandatory mask mandates? If it feels like a long time, that is because it has been. Here are just a few of the 37 states who have mandated masks:

  • Alabama: July 16, 2020
  • Arkansas: July 16, 2020
  • California: June 18, 2020.
  • Colorado: July 17, 2020.
  • Connecticut: April 17, 2020.
  • Hawaii: April 20, 2020 (inside) July 7, 2020 (outside).
  • Kentucky: July 9, 2020, extended August 7, extended September 10, extended October 6.
  • Maine: May 1, extended November 4, 2020.
  • Maryland: July 31, 2020.
  • Montana: July 15, 2020.
  • Nevada: June 24, 2020.
  • New Mexico: May 16, 2020.
  • West Virginia: July 6, 2020.
  • Wisconsin: August 1, 2020.

The facts are masks have become, for nearly 4/5 of the country, a new normal but thoroughly disgusting habit. It seems as though the bald eagle, our national symbol, has been replaced with the lemming, a witless creature we now most emulate.

Why? Regardless of the constant and persistent “scientific” insistence that masks work, that masks are efficacious, that wearing masks saves lives and prevents or slows the spread of this virus, despite everything the “experts” have told us, the facts and data quite clearly do not support these claims. So as to not overcomplicate this, let me simplify and generalize to illustrate my point. Of the states listed above (and those not listed with mandatory mask requirements) let us generalize the start date to mid-year, July 1, 2020 (some earlier, some later by a month or so, call it the median). Now, assuming that masks are even slightly effective, which is counter to the prevailing science which insists masks are highly effective, in either case, the “science” claims the number of cases will inevitably and with high confidence, decline, right? Slow the spread, right? Simple, overwhelming, proven science. Right.

So how has that worked out for everyone? States without mask mandates must have experienced huge increases in infection cases, right? States with mask mandates must have conquered the virus, right? Wrong!

I’ll just use Nevada to illustrate, since I live here. Nevada has been under mandatory masking since June 24, 2020 and this past weekend our governor (who wore a mask and still tested positive for COVID-19) saw fit to double or triple down on his masking mandate. Why? Because the number of positive cases keeps climbing! Imagine that! The more the mask the merrier the virus dances. Every, every, every state with mask mandates in place has experienced the same thing, every single one. Don’t just take my word for it, check it out yourself if you don’t believe me. I refer you back to the beginning: “Insanity is doing the same thing, over and over again, and expecting different results.”

Now, I am certain, as certain as the sun coming up in the East tomorrow morning, that there will be those who will disagree, who will find some nit to pick, or simply call me a conspiracy theorist or anti-science, or find something else to fault. Those who will are welcome to follow their lemming friends off the cliff into oblivion. I welcome reasoned, counterarguments. Show me the facts to support your case, be specific, but please use facts germane not insane. Remember what repetition leads to, please.

Just my thoughts for a Tuesday, for what it is worth.
