My Thoughts

An Orwellian ill wind is ablowin’ across the land; you can see it, taste it, touch it, but beware! Like acid it blinds the eye, dulls the tongue, numbs the hand and stills the tell-tale heart. Some may rightly claim this “hate” speech because it speaks of disturbing, unpleasant truths, truths still true no matter how much you demand them not. You can mask yourself against the bitter blow or stay the distance as prescribed, the insouciant wind cares not a whit for such feeble nonsense.

You may want to deny it. You may wish to wish it away, but you cannot. The war is here, it is upon us, violent and surreal. Believe what you will until you discover what you believe are no longer your thoughts. The thought police are coming, and they are coming for you. If you think this is nonsense, think again. Robert Reich, former Labor Secretary under President Clinton recently tweeted: “When this nightmare is over, we need a Truth and Reconciliation Commission. It would erase Trump’s lies, comfort those who have been harmed by his hatefulness, and name every official, politician, executive, and media mogul whose greed and cowardice enabled this catastrophe.” This is what many influential Democrats want, full blown show-trials and purges, same as the communists pioneered (thus the reason for packing the court.) What really motivates the progressive left is not so much of socialism’s false promises of equality and redistribution—purges, show trials, Gulags and re-education camps are what really gets their cold blood pumping.

And it makes sense. Socialism has failed everywhere it’s ever been tried, every time, every place, every place it’s ever been practiced, people are poorer, unfreerer and less advanced than in places with capitalism. They’ve got a 100% record on failure for that. But where they don’t have a record of failure is on a reign of terror, where neighbor spies on neighbor for a secret police, thought crimes are punished, mass imprisonment and re-education camps are a way of life, show trials appear where groveling people stand before people’s commissars and profess to love what they hate and hate what they love, and the yin and yang of violence to reinforce lies and lies to cover up violence. There are also party purges to keep everyone in a state of fear.[1]

It is the mask that pretends to shelter, the wind replies with gales of laughter. The Mask of the Red Death is no fairy tale. Nineteen Eighty-four has passed us by. Wake up America.

Just my thoughts for a Tuesday, for what it is worth.
